WallingfordZip Codes 98103, and 98105; Wallingford is known as one of the more tight-knit communities in Seattle. This community has a population of almost 18,000 in an area just over 1.5 miles, and is located between the north end of Lake Union and south of Green lake in Seattle, WA. Wallingford got its name from John Noble Wallingford, Jr. He was well know as a real estate speculator and owned a lot of the land in Wallingford(1833–1913).
The supermarket(QFC) at the corner of N 45th Street and Wallingford Avenue is pretty much the center of the neighborhood. Walking in either direction, east or west from the QFC you will find all kinds of neighborhood shops, restaurants, sports bars, wine bars, and almost anything else you might be looking for including the original Dick's Drive-In. Across the way from the QFC you will find Wallingford Center (was once the Interlake Elementary School, now turned into shops and apartments). |
